Answers To Common Questions

How long will a home addition take?

A standard home addition will take anywhere from 6 months up to 9 months to complete depending on a handful of things such as: square footage, demo complexity, finishes chosen, homeowner decision making.

Can I add a second story to my home?

Yes you can.  These types of projects can become expensive as you can imagine but majority of the time adding a second story to a home is very doable.

What are setbacks and how do I find them?

Setbacks are the measurements that the city allows you to build up to coming off your property lines.  You can find these on the cities website or by calling the building department to find out what yours are.

Are project delays real?

Yes project delays are inevitable.  Either it be materials being delayed or someone else's schedule getting messed up there is nothing that can be done to really prevent this.  If Dave the insulation crew gets sick for a week then that puts the whole project behind and if the back up insulation guy is busy for another 3 weeks then waiting on Dave is still faster than hiring someone new.  But that still pushes everyone else back that was already on the schedule waiting on Dave and now they need to go find the availability in their schedules to come back once Dave and his crew are done.

How long will a new home build take?

A standard home that is more of a spec can take a build time of 6 to 9 months.  A full custom home build can take anywhere from 12 to 22 months depending on size and amount of customizations are made during the process.

How long will a remodel take?

A major remodel depending on the scope of work can be a 4 month project all the way up to a 10 month project.
